The Paraguayan Adventure: Part V

On Monday, December 5, the staff of Clinica Luz y Esperanza went to Aquatica Nautica, a local park beside a beautiful lake, for Staff Day, while former staff (who’d come for Johanna’s wedding) took care of the clinic. Eric and Dad had left that morning for Uruguay, so I was left with little choice but to enjoy their day with them πŸ™‚ It was a very relaxing day for everyone, with good food and good company and very little stress to mar the day. We also had very much fun in the water, and right after we got there, Phoebe and Isaiah jumped into the lake as if they hadn’t a moment to lose! πŸ™‚

Maynard and Cynthia enjoying time off:

Priscilla and Kelly watching over little Lily Shalom:

Here’s a few of the amazing staff at Luz y Esperansa:

from L to R: Maria, Dorcas, Charlene, Amy, Priscilla, Elsie

Phoebe got her hands a li’l dirty playing with mud πŸ™‚

And Amy didn’t appreciate me trying to photograph her siesta time πŸ™‚

After we all did our own thing for a while, we had a dee-licious lunch grilled by Jay…

…then we all sat back while Brenda read us a storybook to us. The book was called Good Old Archibald and it was very interesting! πŸ™‚

Then the committee disappeared to rig up a piΓ±ata for us:

After many, many! tries, we finally got the thing popped and got to chew on all the goodies.

After that, we start playing EckaBalla on the beach, and somehow we all ended up in the water! Unfortunately, we had to end the fun and pack up to go home, dripping and cold but happy πŸ™‚

And here we is! back row L to R: Jay, Maynard, Cynthia holding Lily. middle row: Dorcas, Brenda, Priscilla, Elsie. front row: Isaiah, Kelly, Maria, Amy, Charlene, Phoebe.

That was Staff Day!
