Lately I’ve Been | January 16, 2014

God created us to live with a single passion to joyfully display his supreme excellence in all the spheres of life.

-John Piper

Reading… Don’t Waste Your Life! by John Piper. And enjoying the way his passion is bound up so tightly in his theological discourses.
Challenged by… ^ it’s message. “If you want your life to count, if you want the ripple effect of the pebbles you drop to become waves that reach the ends of the earth and roll on into eternity, you don’t need to have a high IQ. You don’t have to have good looks or riches or come from a fine family or a fine school. Instead you have to know a few great, majestic, unchanging, obvious, simple, glorious things — or one great all-embracing thing — and be set on fire by them.”
Laughing over and over at… my brother Neil. He’s around for seven days and we’re treasuring each one.
Selling… lots of corn meal mush this week! The stuff is gold! 😉
Excited about… attending six weeks of Bible School. And counting down the weeks. Five. 🙂 *bonus: Pittsburgh next weekend!
Listening to… The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes! by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Oh, this book is addictive. (And yes, I know how dumb it is trying to digest two books at once, but one is for driving and the other is for breakfast.)
Making… lots of tea! After Christmas I bought three different kinds and been enjoying every one. My favorite is White Chocolate Peppermint. It sounds gross and you know I hate flavored coffees, but this is AUTHENTIC.

Watch for that moment to open the door for somebody today.
